Bachelor's in Computer Science

General information

Description

Thanks to its cutting-edge courses, USI has given me a solid theoretical and mathematical computer base, supported by countless personal and group practical projects. These taught me to work alone and in a team according to an optimal logic from the point of view of computer engineering. From here I started to build all my current computer knowledge.

Of all the courses I attended during the Bachelor, the most stimulating and fascinating were the courses on artificial intelligence: Information Retrieval, Artifical Intelligence, Machine Learning. These courses have in particular allowed me to gain a broader view on the main techniques of learning from data and on the fields of application of these constantly evolving technologies.

Another course I really enjoyed was Computer Networking Computer Networking. I learned about the topological structure of a network built on numerous levels, each governed by its own protocols, with the ultimate goal of allowing the exchange of data. In addition to this, I have dealt with the major security systems, aimed at making communication safe. I started with symmetric key systems to get to public key systems, then moved on to hash functions and digital signatures.

A last fascinating course also related to security was that of Quantum Computing: new frontiers of information technology are about to be crossed.

All the aforementioned courses have always been accompanied by practical projects in which I have always dabbled.
